I went to this park today called River Park North. It's on the banks of the Tar River in Greenville, NC. It is a 300+ acre park. It has tons of walking trails and hiking trails. You can rent pedal boats and row boats. You could easily spend hours there. I love it there because it makes walking fun. It started to rain a little so I left. It is so pretty there.

If you live in NC you may have heard that Time Warner is trying to get the NC Legislators to ban local ISPs. The town of Wilson, NC took out a 28 million bond to build a fiber optic network and Time Warner cannot possibly compete. The bill would make it nearly impossible for cities to do what Wilson have done and subject them to laws that the Industry is not subject to. It also prevents communities from getting money from the stimulus package for broadband that Obama included in his stimulus package.
Please visit this page to find info to contact your representatives. http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/homePage.pl
You can visit http://savencbb.wordpress.com which is a site started by Brian Bowman who is Pubic Affairs Manager for the City of Wilson, NC. You can view what this bill would do and updates.
What struck me odd was this from his blog:
Here’s the part that really surprised me. Several times, members of the committee asked bill sponsors Rep. Ty Harrell (Wake) and Rep. Thom Tillis (Mecklenburg) for clarification. The lawmakers turned to a Time Warner staff member and an attorney who represents the industry to speak on their behalf. You read that right. The sponsors, elected by their communities, had to ask a Time Warner rep to clarify what their own bill said.
I have emailed the sponsor of this bill, Ty Harrell, and I suggest everyone do the same.
